SETU is our flagship India CSR program, for Skilling Education, Training & Upliftment
At Intertek India, we believe that meaningful employment is one of the most powerful drivers of social and economic transformation. Since 2021-22, the SETU program has been creating pathways to sustainable livelihoods for underprivileged youth by equipping them with industry-relevant skills and connecting them to quality employment opportunities.
Over the past four years, SETU has enabled young people from underserved communities to build successful careers in the textile and apparel sector. Through certified training in Lab Technician Textile, Merchandising, and Fabric Quality Inspection, the program bridges the gap between industry demand and workforce readiness, helping participants gain the skills, confidence, and practical exposure required to thrive in today's job market.
As of May 2026, the program has trained 1,509 youth across Gurugram, Tirupur, Bengaluru, and Mumbai. Of these, 1,064 graduates have secured employment with 208 companies, while 368 students are currently undergoing training. The program has achieved a placement rate of 70%, with graduates earning starting salaries ranging from INR 14,000 to INR 16,000 per month.
